Who is involved in Festival 3000?
The National trust, Europe's leading heritage conservation charity, has formed an exciting partnership with Kandu Arts to involve young people in a range of sustainable workshops including: music, drama, video, dance, animation, and many practical workshops, such as Wateraid.
What are the principle aims of Festival 3000?
The festival will aim to bring together many facets of community life within a fun and highly dynamic arena. The main message of the festival is that we all take stock and look forward to developing a more sustainable means of survival that will see us, the environment, and society as a whole through the next thousand years.
PARTNERSHIPS AND COMMUNITY LINKS TO SUCCESS
The aims of the festival will be achieved through the collaboration of organisations

The local community of Lacock in Wiltshire - a settlement with evidence of a 1,000 year history

The National Trust - a leading conservation charity, committed to developing exciting education programmes and to bringing access, learning and enjoyment to local communities

Kandu Arts for Sustainable Development - a local charity whose principle aim is to advance the education of the public in sustainable development through community activities

The Natural Step UK - an organisation working with companies such as BP, Sainsburys and DuPont, and local authorities, aiming to develop the application of a common framework of easily understood science-based principles as a guide towards sustainable development

Local Schools - providing them with an opportunity to learn and have fun in a unique way, through activities that will enhance cross-curricular project work, linking the environment, industry, agriculture, technology and history

Young People - who have been marginalised, such as young offenders, children in foster care or those experiencing difficulty in school

Local Government and Local Agenda 21 agencies

Local Companies, Colleges, and relevant organisations - you will have the opportunity to be involved in your community, to share in exploring creative ways to achieve your own goals, to the benefit of the community as a whole.
THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME
The principal aim of Festival 3000 is to promote a more cohesive society, through people's active participation in a range of activities. These will be both creative and supportive and will be designed to exemplify the positive benefits of collaboration.
The Festival will provide a wealth of opportunities for people to meet socially, exchange information, question attitudes and practices and celebrate the best in community developments.
Each of us has a particular perspective on society, but we all benefit by working towards a comprehensive understanding of how we sustain and are sustained by our living planet.
ACTIVITIES AT FESTIVAL 3000
The activities will focus on issues suggested by the Earth, Wind, Fire and Water theme.
